Tell Harbor Point about The Launchpad: write a press kit reporters can use, prepare our spokesperson, and run a press briefing.
Client scenario
Welcome to the Communications Office. You've just joined the communications team at Harbor Point Public Library (fictional). The library is about to open The Launchpad, a free coding-and-design lab for teens, and the city wants everyone to hear about it.
Client: The Library Director (the teacher in role). The Director approves everything that goes public.
The Launchpad opens soon, and local news outlets, families and teens need clear, correct information about it.
Roles
Communications Director
Press Writer
Digital Content Writer
Spokesperson
Fact-Checker / Quality Lead
The twist: The Director sends a Correction Memo (H3): the opening date in the released press release is wrong. The lab opens a week later than the date on the fact sheet, because the furniture delivery was delayed. A reporter has already called to check.
Standards mapped
Mapped means the framework is verified and the teacher confirms the evidence. It isn't a claim that a project meets a standard.

Safety, devices and privacy
School devices only. No phones, and no personal accounts. Documents are typed in an offline tool or a school-managed account, or handwritten.
Social posts are drafts on paper or in a document only. They are never posted, never typed into a real social media site, and never tag real accounts.
No cameras. The mock press briefing is live in the classroom and is not filmed or recorded.
All people, places and reporters are fictional. Students never contact real libraries, reporters or news outlets. Nothing leaves the classroom.
No student names, photos or personal information in any document. The spokesperson speaks as "a library spokesperson", and documents are signed "Team [#]".
Low-cost, school-realistic materials only. Follow the school's usual classroom rules.
Creative Dad On the Job is in-class client project work. It is not a paid, off-campus On-the-Job Training (OJT) placement.
