Create a visual identity for our reopening: a logo system, colors, type and simple rules anyone at the co-op can follow.
Client scenario
Welcome to the studio. A neighborhood bike repair co-op is reopening after a year away as Second Gear Bike Co-op (fictional). Volunteers fix bikes, teach repair classes and sell refurbished bikes at fair prices. The manager has hired your studio to create its visual identity before the reopening.
Client: The Co-op Manager (the teacher in role), who answers to the co-op's member board.
The co-op needs a look that people recognize and trust, works on a sign across the street and on a work shirt, and doesn't look like anyone else's.
Roles
Creative Director
Logo Designer
Brand Systems Designer
Mockup Designer
Quality Lead
The twist: The manager hands over the Client Note (H3): a member noticed that Fixed Wheel Cycles, a shop across town, uses a mark very like the one the client picked (see the description in H3). The manager also needs a version that can be embroidered on a work shirt: one thread color, no thin lines.
Standards mapped
Mapped means the framework is verified and the teacher confirms the evidence. It isn't a claim that a project meets a standard.

Safety, devices and privacy
School devices only. No phones, and no personal accounts. Design tools are installed on the device or used through a school-managed or teacher-created class account.
Original work only. No tracing, copying or "adapting" real logos, and no stock clip art or template elements in the mark. The Quality Lead keeps an originality log.
Free-licensed fonts only. Fonts must be under the SIL Open Font License or already licensed on the school device; the license is recorded in the brand guide.
Nothing is published or registered. The identity stays in class. No real shop is contacted, and nothing is posted online or filed as a trademark.
No photos of students. Mockups use drawings and shapes, not photos of people. No student names or personal information on any deliverable. Sign work "Team [#]".
Scissors only for cutting. Students cut card stock with scissors. No craft knives or other blades for students; any other cut is done by an adult.
Low-cost, school-realistic materials only. Follow the school's usual classroom rules.
Creative Dad On the Job is in-class client project work. It is not a paid, off-campus On-the-Job Training (OJT) placement.
